River Rafting Interlaken Switzerland

ABOUT THIS ADVENTURE

For a long time I had this idea that Europe lacked the outdoor adventures I could get in other parts of the world. I was WRONG! I traveled to Interlaken Switzerland which is known as the “adventure capital of Europe.” During my visit, the company Alpin Raft sponsored my activities and this is an in-depth look at river rafting Interlaken. For my full experience check out my blog Things To Do In Interlaken: Outdoor Adventures with Alpin Raft.

RIVER RAFTING INTERLAKEN

The best thing about river rafting Interlaken – it happens rain or shine! On a day when hang gliding, skydiving, canyoning, etc. were canceled due to bad weather, river rafting wasn’t. With that said, rafting in the cold rain isn’t an experience for everyone! Did the bad weather stop me from going? Nope!

Alpin Raft outfitted everyone in full body wetsuits and booties so our bodies stayed warm. My body wasn’t cold, but my hands were. They went somewhat numb as we were splashed with glacier water from the Lutschine River while attacking Class III-IV rapids.

Travel Tip – Alpin Raft offers family rafting on the lower part of the river for children ages 4 and up.

Thinking back to river rafting Interlaken I remember working with strangers to row in synchronicity, laughing as we had to pile into the middle of the raft when the rapids were too large and enjoying the beauty of being one with nature… dealing with rain and cold hands was worth the overall experience.
